Balitang Vancouver Hosts Kit Morales, Irene Querubin and Franco Teleg on Shaw Multicultural Channel 116Mondays 9:30 pm - 10:30 pm IRENE QUERUBIN Irene Querubin is a Broadcasting Major from the University of the Philippines. Moving to Canada has opened up opportunities for Irene to pursue a career in this field thru radio and television projects she has worked on. Irene was co-host on Coop Radio. She was also a writer and host on “Mangovibe”, a hip and brilliant lifestyle program on TV. Irene has also taken additional courses at the BCIT on Broadcast Journalism to further enhance her craft. This young and talented Filipina also had a brief stint with Channel M, and now works at Chum Radio to broaden her understanding of Canadian Broadcasting. Lastly, she credits her valuable internship at CTVas one of the reasons behind her pursuit to become a better journalist.
FRANCO TELEGFranco Teleg was a former Political Science Professor at the De La Salle University and the University of the Philippines before he migrated to Canada in 2001. He graduated with a BA in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines and an MA in International Relations from the International University of Japan. The only male host in “Balitang Vancouver”, Franco is also into public service as he works for the City of Burnaby and mentors fellow Toastmaster at the Metro Speakers club where he was past president. He is excited to be part of “Balitang Vancouver” as he believes the program will be a valuable platform to share the Filipino’s cultural heritage to the larger Canadian society.
